22 years ago Emily and I were supposed to be hiking across the AT in the Smokey Mountains. We got snowed out and headed down to the campground on the North Carolina side. About 1 hour later a black GMC Jimmy pulls up and sat just in front of our camp site. Should I mention we were the only ones in the campground. I was reaching for a suitable weapon when all the sudden Dave's head popped and said .... MMMAAAATTTT???? Turns out Dave and Val had headed down to Gatlinburg to get married. By pure chance and some bad weather we had run into each other and got to spend the weekend enjoying the wedding and celebration (we were under 21 so the celebration was a bit of a challenge). So how did the story end. Well tonight Dave and Val celebrate their 22 year anniversary and Dave and I own a brewery together. So pretty awesome. (Also Emily eventually married me despite having to hike down in 3 ft of snow on the AT). Gotta love the stories @WabashBrewing!
As all brewers know most of the work is in cleaning and this weekend was keg cleaning ... wash, rinse, and repeat!!! The good news is we are now open Sundays and with the warmer weather and sun the patio feels great with a Sunlight over Citra. Start getting your explorer outfits ready. We are going to have an adventure themed day when we crack the keg on our Lost City of Gold El Dorado MOUNDS IPA. We dry hoped it yesterday!!! We will have an indoor scavenger hunt and if you can open the mystery box at the end you can win a cool prize. CHEERS!
